About This Position
Pullman Market, a vibrant culinary destination celebrated for its farm-to-table commitment, is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Grocery Team Member to join our esteemed team. As an integral part of our section, you will ensure the shelves are adequately stocked, maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization, and assist the Grocery Manager with order processing and display construction. Your exceptional customer service skills will be crucial as you interact with patrons on the sales floor, providing support and guidance. You will also be responsible for various tasks as assigned by the Grocery Manager, contributing to the seamless operation of our market and elevating the overall customer experience.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Uphold proper stocking practices by ensuring shelves are fully and neatly stocked throughout the day.
- Maintain clean and organized displays in all areas of the grocery section.
- Follow proper product rotation guidelines, such as First In, First Out (FIFO), to minimize waste.
- Check for expired, damaged, or mislabeled items and remove them promptly.
- Sanitize work surfaces and shelving units regularly to ensure food safety compliance.
- Support the Grocery Manager in designing in-store displays that are both visually appealing and functional.
- Help build displays that showcase promotions, seasonal items, or local favorites.
- Approach customers with a helpful attitude to provide outstanding service.
- Answer questions and offer recommendations based on a thorough understanding of products.
- Assist customers with locating items throughout the market.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Pitch in during busy periods or special events, supporting other team members when necessary.
Personal Requirements:
- Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- A genuine passion for locally sourced products and culinary offerings is advantageous.

Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
