The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations by assisting licensed pharmacists with prescription preparation, customer service, inventory handling, and pharmacy administrative tasks. Pharmacy Technicians perform duties under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge (Pharmacy Manager) and Staff Pharmacist and must follow all applicable pharmacy regulations and company policies.

The Pharmacy Technician helps maintain accurate records, process prescriptions, assist customers, and ensure pharmacy operations are organized and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Processing & Pharmacy Support

  • Assist licensed pharmacists with counting, packaging, and preparing prescriptions as directed.
  • Support pharmacy workflow by organizing prescriptions and assisting with dispensing processes under pharmacist supervision.
  • Maintain accurate prescription and customer information in pharmacy systems.

Customer Service & Front Counter Support

  • Assist customers at the pharmacy counter with prescription pickups and inquiries.
  • Perform cashier functions including processing cash, credit card, and insurance transactions.
  • Answer pharmacy phones and direct customer inquiries appropriately.

Third-Party & Data Processing

  • Process third-party insurance claims and assist with claim submissions when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prescription information within pharmacy data systems.

Inventory & Department Organization

  • Receive and inspect pharmacy product deliveries.
  • Assist in organizing pharmacy inventory and maintaining orderly storage of medications and supplies.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization within the pharmacy department.

Record keeping & Administrative Duties

  • Perform accurate record keeping as directed by the pharmacist.
  • Assist with pharmacy documentation and administrative tasks as required.
  • Support the pharmacist in maintaining compliance with regulatory record keeping requirements.

Compliance & Company Standards

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines outlined in the Lynn’s Inc. & Affiliates Primary Policy Manual.
  • Comply with all applicable pharmacy regulations and requirements established by the State Board of Pharmacy and federal agencies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and company operational matters.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, healthcare providers, vendors, and store personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a Pharmacy Technician Certificate issued by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must complete required CMS and CSOS training modules as required for pharmacy operations.
  • All required certifications and training acknowledgements will be maintained in the employee’s personnel file at the Support Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service in a healthcare environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
