WAREHOUSE LEAD - OUTBOUND (PM) at Airport Drayage Company Inc – Portland, Oregon

Local air freight pickup and delivery company that has had a presence in Portland since 1959. Family owned and operated with about 50 employees between two terminals.

Job Purpose: To maintain, organize, package, label, and handle freight in the warehouse.

Duties:

• Maintain, organize, and keep warehouse floor clean and safe.
• Operate forklift and pallet jacks safely to load and unload freight for trucks.
• Reweigh, DIM and stage freight.
• Package cargo for outbound shipments.
• Label and prepare shipments for airlines and common carriers.
• Maintain operational spreadsheets.
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Occasional short-distance driving (within a few miles) to tender freight to airline cargo facilities; must be comfortable operating company vehicles (non-routine).
• Build, modify, and bread down crates and pallets to properly package freight for outbound shipments.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 2+ years of forklift experience
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Walk, bend, climb and push consistently for an 8-10 hour shift
• Deadline oriented
• Team player
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools (saws, drills, etc.) to build and modify crates/pallets.
• Must be able to pass a background check and obtain TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) clearance (company will facilitate upon hire).

Hours:

Monday through Friday 13:30-22:00; must be able to stay until work is completed and the warehouse is secured for the night.
