Crouse Health is hiring a Vice President of Finance.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

VP of Finance Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for finance, purchasing, materials management, and Pomeroy CON financial services.
  • Partner with the CFO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors on financial strategy, organizational performance, and major initiatives.
  • Lead the development, execution, and oversight of the annual operating budget, capital plan, and long-range financial forecast.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, purchasing, and supply chain functions.
  • Ensure timely, accurate preparation and presentation of financial statements, board materials, and executive-level financial analyses.
  • Provide enterprise-wide financial modeling, analysis, and decision support to evaluate performance, risks, opportunities, and return on investment.
  • Monitor budget-to-actual performance, productivity, and key financial indicators; drive accountability and corrective actions.
  • Oversee cost accounting, decision support, business intelligence, and benchmarking to support clinical and operational leaders.
  • Provide financial oversight and project management support for strategic initiatives and major organizational projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards, bond covenants, and accrediting requirements.
  • Lead coordination of year-end audits and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulators.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor finance, purchasing, and materials management, and Pomeroy CON leadership and staff.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and financial governance structures.
  • Communicate financial performance, priorities, and policy updates clearly and effectively across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO or executive leadership.

VP of Finance Position Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree (MBA, MHA, or similar) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Required: Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in healthcare finance, accounting, or auditing. Minimum of five (5) years of senior management or executive leadership experience with responsibility for financial strategy, budgeting, and operational oversight.
  • Preferred: Previous public accounting experience and prior experience in an integrated healthcare delivery system or hospital environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, capital planning, and long-range financial modeling.
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Outlook, and enterprise accounting, financial reporting, and business intelligence systems.
