JOB SUMMARY

The Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting post-installation service and quality by ensuring flooring and cabinetry installations meet company and customer standards. This position works closely with building superintendents, installers, and internal teams to complete repairs, address punch items, and resolve installation issues. Success in this role means completed jobs meet quality expectations, service items are resolved efficiently, and customer satisfaction is maintained. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in field environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure completed installations meet quality standards by performing punch work and repairs on flooring and cabinetry.
  • Perform post-installation walkthroughs to identify issues and document findings through photos and detailed notes.
  • Complete cabinet touch-ups, including doors, drawers, and panels, to ensure a finished and professional appearance.
  • Measure job sites accurately to support cabinet installation and service needs.
  • Provide technical support to installers based on manufacturer specifications and builder requirements.
  • Communicate installation requirements and material specifications to builders and internal teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment across job sites and warehouse locations.
  • Identify installation issues and implement effective solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with builders, customers, and independent contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and ability to perform minor repairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a field environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in flooring, cabinetry, or residential construction.
  • Experience performing punch work or service repairs.
  • Familiarity with installation standards and quality expectations in new construction environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Stationary Position: Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing) for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Mobility: Frequently required to move between job sites, warehouse locations, and active construction environments.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Positioning: Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach when performing repairs and inspections.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequently uses hand tools and equipment to complete repairs and touch-ups.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, builders, and installers in active job site environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

  • Warehouse/Facility: May be exposed to non-climate-controlled environments, including heat and cold.
  • Job Site/Field: Exposure to active construction sites, outdoor weather conditions, dust, and varying terrain.
  • Operational Demands: Role may require meeting deadlines and managing multiple service items in a fast-paced environment
  • Safety: Requires adherence to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
