Position Summary:

The HR Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources Department. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of HR practices, compliance and a passion for supporting a team dedicated to serving veterans. The coordinator will be involved in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration and maintaining compliance with employment laws and organizational policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, including sourcing, interviewing, background checks and new employee orientation.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave and compensation programs.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support employee relations, performance management and training initiatives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a non-profit or social services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, communication and people skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now.
  • SHRM-CP or other HR certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and automobile insurance.
  • A passion for serving the veteran community.
