The Opportunity

Position Title: Residential Care Aide

Location: Takla

Employment Type: Part-Time; 35 hours biweekly

What You’ll Do

As our Residential Care Aide, you will make a meaningful difference in the everyday lives of Elders and community members, helping them maintain dignity, independence, and connection to what matters most. This is an opportunity to build trusted relationships and offer comfort during vulnerable moments all while practicing cultural humility.

  • Provide personal care services such as: personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, shower/ bathing, companion care, mobility assistance and respite services.
  • Assist with activities of daily living. May include feeding, bowel and bladder care.
  • Provide ancillary client services, as identified in client care plans or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Facilitate special care/ respite services for clients diagnosed with physical, psychological, or mental impairments.

What You Will Bring to The Role

  • Cultural humility.
  • A deep appreciation for Indigenous cultures.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of Resident Care Certificate.
  • Possession of a Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Possession of a Basic First Aid Certificate.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods course.

Takla Landing is a beautiful remote community in north-central British Columbia. Located 195 km north of Fort St. James on the eastern shore of Takla Lake within Takla First Nation’s traditional territory and features stunning lakes, rivers, forests, and mountains.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $28.42 to $36.81 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity
