At Junction City Rehabilitation of Cascadia, we're dedicated to providing exceptional skilled nursing and rehabilitation services that empower our residents to recover, thrive, and live well. We're seeking a passionate and experienced Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Services Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a resident-focused leader who is passionate about nutrition, healthcare dining, regulatory compliance, and creating positive dining experiences that support resident health and well-being.

About the Role

As the Dietary Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Services Department, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, appetizing meals that meet physician orders, therapeutic diet requirements, and individual preferences. You will lead and develop dietary staff, maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborate closely with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary care team to support quality resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all dietary services operations, including meal service, food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure menus and meal plans meet physician orders, therapeutic diet requirements, and resident nutritional needs.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to implement nutrition programs, menu planning, and dietary interventions.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate dietary department staff.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, meal presentation, and resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and facility dietary regulations and standards.
  • Oversee departmental budget, inventory management, food purchasing, and cost controls.
  • Conduct routine kitchen and dining area inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and infection control standards are met.
  • Participate in resident care planning meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns related to food service and dining experiences.
  • Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the facility.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to dietary services, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a positive, resident-centered dining environment that enhances quality of life.
  • Stay current on dietary regulations, nutrition standards, and best practices in long-term care.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) credential required, or ability to obtain within required timeframe in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of dietary or food service management experience required.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or healthcare food service strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutrition standards, and regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on facility needs.
