Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will report to the General Manager. This position is primarily responsible for managing the design, manufacturing, and delivery of custom production tools and equipment produced within our facility. Additional business-related projects may be assigned as organizational needs arise. This includes developing comprehensive project plans, maintaining project schedules, tracking progress against established baselines, monitoring budget performance, and communicating project status to stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the project schedules and requirements in collaboration with sales, engineering, production, supply chain, management, customers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage project schedules and facilitate regular status meetings to monitor progress, track key milestones, ensure on-time delivery, and communicate schedule changes as needed.
  • Track, maintain, and report hours compared to budget for projects.
  • Work with and collaborate with all levels of management on a regular basis.
  • Conduct comprehensive project/product risk analysis and report the risk management plans to management.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and coordination throughout the project.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, document, and manage project changes, including impacts to cost, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and executive-level communications.
  • Collaborate with procurement for vendor/supplier deliverables as required.
  • Escalate project risks, issues, and resource constraints to leadership with recommended mitigation plans.
  • Lead project kickoff, milestone review, and project closeout activities.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained according to company standards.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and implement corrective actions when projects deviate from plan.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution, resource planning and workflow efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle and ensure customer expectations, milestones, and deliverables are effectively communicated and managed.
  • Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Engineering or technical field preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in project management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Experience managing engineering, manufacturing, capital equipment, or custom machinery projects preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs while maintaining project commitments.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Preferred Experience:

  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with custom equipment, automation systems, or engineered-to-order products.
  • Experience working directly with customers throughout project execution.
  • Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

    Standard office environment including work at a computer terminal. Work involves extended periods of sitting, occasional walking, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
