This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Director, Product Management - Patient Access Technology based in United States.

This senior leadership role will shape technology solutions that improve patient access, adherence, and affordability across healthcare and life sciences.
You will define product vision and strategy while translating complex business, client, operational, and patient needs into scalable technology solutions.
The role serves as a strategic bridge between business leaders, technology teams, clients, and external industry stakeholders.
You will oversee product roadmaps and backlogs, guide development priorities, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value and strong user experiences.
The position also plays a key role in strategic client engagements, business development, product launches, and portfolio growth.
Success requires strong product leadership, healthcare or life sciences expertise, commercial judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in regulated environments.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an influential product leader seeking to drive innovation and meaningful outcomes in patient services.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and value proposition for technology solutions supporting patient access, adherence, and affordability.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing patient and client needs, business objectives, technical constraints, regulatory considerations, and expected business value.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations to identify opportunities and maintain market relevance.
  • Partner with operations, project management, regulatory, quality, engineering, architecture, information security, privacy, data governance, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
  • Translate complex business needs into actionable product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and development priorities while maintaining effective feedback loops with agile teams.
  • Engage directly with clients and strategic stakeholders to understand pain points, priorities, and opportunities, ensuring product direction reflects real-world needs.
  • Serve as an executive-facing product and solution leader during strategic client meetings, bid defenses, governance forums, quarterly business reviews, and portfolio discussions.
  • Evaluate proposed client commitments for scope, feasibility, regulatory and validation implications, budget requirements, resource needs, dependencies, and delivery risks before commitments are finalized.
  • Support business development initiatives, including RFI/RFP responses, pricing and estimation, client presentations, strategic planning, and product positioning.
  • Partner with finance and pricing teams to understand cost structures, pricing strategies, profitability drivers, and overall product viability.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, messaging, launch plans, and product enhancement communications.
  • Work with data and analytics teams to incorporate real-world evidence and insights that improve patient engagement, retention, and product performance.
  • Ensure technology solutions align with healthcare regulations, industry standards, data security requirements, and HIPAA obligations.
  • Support program startup and transition activities by ensuring product intent, approved scope, client commitments, decision history, budget assumptions, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations are clearly communicated to delivery teams.
  • Sponsor business cases and technology/AI governance materials covering objectives, target users, expected value, costs, dependencies, risks, assumptions, success measures, and decision points.
  • Establish strategic relationships with pharmaceutical clients to encourage co-definition, co-development, early adoption, and ongoing innovation beyond traditional RFP-driven engagements.
  • Monitor product performance and user feedback and use insights to drive continuous improvement across the product portfolio.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Product Business Analysts when applicable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably within healthcare, life sciences, patient support services, or a related regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy services, patient access programs, affordability solutions, copay programs, or patient assistance programs is strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience defining product strategy, managing backlogs, prioritizing features, and translating business needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
  • Ability to make difficult product decisions and prioritize initiatives based on business value, customer needs, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of agile product development and the ability to serve as an effective bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging clients, executives, technical teams, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Ability to balance commercial priorities, technical constraints, patient needs, and healthcare or regulatory requirements.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to evaluate complex information and turn it into actionable product decisions.
  • Customer-focused mindset and passion for delivering high-quality technology products and experiences.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trusted relationships across functions and organizations.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment when managing changing priorities, complex requirements, and high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Product Owner certification such as CSPO, or an equivalent credential, is a plus.
  • Experience with technology or AI governance, data-driven product development, or enterprise healthcare technology is advantageous.
