Job Description
School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist
Greenwood, South Carolina · Part-time · W-2 Employee
About Greater Good Therapy Company
Greater Good Therapy Company is a pediatric speech-language pathology and occupational therapy practice with locations in Greenwood, South Carolina. We were founded in 2021 by two practicing clinicians who wanted to build the kind of place they would want to work. Our caseload is exclusively pediatric, and families come to us because they want specialists.
We are small on purpose. Clinicians here work directly with the owners rather than through layers of management, carry caseloads that leave room for quality documentation and real therapeutic relationships, and have genuine influence over how care is delivered.
About the Role
We are expanding our school-based therapy services in Greenwood and are looking for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to serve students on-site during the school day.
This is a W-2 position with Greater Good Therapy Company. You will work in the school, but you will be employed by us — which means a clinical team behind you, administrative and documentation support, and an employer who is reachable. If you have worked school assignments through a staffing agency and found yourself carrying the paperwork, the credentialing, and the isolation on your own, this is the version of that job with support attached.
Full-time clinicians carry a defined caseload, are eligible for paid time off and professional development support, and have a real path into supervision and mentorship as the practice grows.
What You Will Do
- Conduct speech and language evaluations to support eligibility determinations and re-evaluations.
- Write measurable, standards-aligned IEP goals and track student progress toward them.
- Participate in IEP meetings and eligibility conferences alongside the school team.
- Deliver skilled, evidence-based therapy to an assigned caseload of students, individually and in groups.
- Consult with teachers and school staff on classroom carryover and communication supports.
- Implement and support AAC systems where clinically indicated.
- Supervise SLPAs or mentor Clinical Fellows, if qualified and interested.
- Complete documentation and service logs accurately and on time, including any Medicaid-billable service records.
- Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from a CAA-accredited program.
- Active South Carolina SLP license, or license eligibility with licensure in hand before your first student contact.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or active Clinical Fellowship status.
- CPR/BLS certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to pass background screening, including SLED.
- Prior school-based, early intervention, or pediatric outpatient experience.
- Experience writing and defending IEP goals.
- AAC evaluation and implementation experience.
- Direct access to clinical leadership. The owners are practicing clinicians, and they are reachable.
- A practice built on the ASHA and AOTA ethics codes, not merely compliant with them.
- A school-based schedule, with clinical and administrative support behind you.
- Mentorship and professional collaboration, including supervision support for Clinical Fellows.
- A growing practice with opportunities to expand your role.
- A team that cares about clinicians as much as it cares about the children we serve.
