Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Founding Sales Development Representative based in United States.
This is a high-ownership opportunity to become the first dedicated outbound sales hire at an early-stage AI infrastructure company. You will take responsibility for building the top-of-funnel engine from the ground up rather than inheriting an established playbook. Working closely with founders and product leaders, you will identify target accounts, develop outbound strategies, generate qualified meetings, and help shape the company's sales motion. Your feedback from prospects will directly influence positioning, messaging, and go-to-market decisions. The environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and suited to someone who thrives with significant autonomy. This role offers the chance to see the impact of your pipeline generation work directly reflected in business growth.
- Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation from prospect identification through qualification and handoff to the sales team.
- Build and continuously refine target account lists, account plans, outbound sequences, and prospecting strategies.
- Execute high-volume outbound campaigns across cold calling, email, and other relevant channels against defined meeting and pipeline targets.
- Qualify both inbound and outbound interest and ensure qualified opportunities are handed off effectively to the appropriate sales stakeholders.
- Develop and test new messaging, sequences, targeting approaches, and calling cadences to improve outbound performance.
- Capture prospect feedback, objections, market intelligence, and buying signals and communicate them to founders and product stakeholders.
- Help establish the technology, workflows, processes, and performance metrics required to scale an effective outbound sales function.
- Work closely with leadership and product teams to understand customer needs and translate market feedback into actionable go-to-market insights.
- Previous experience in a B2B SaaS SDR or BDR role, preferably within an early-stage or high-growth company.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales development, meeting-generation, or pipeline targets.
- Comfortable executing high-volume outbound prospecting, including cold calling and personalized email outreach.
- Ability to build prospecting processes and workflows from scratch rather than relying exclusively on established playbooks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage prospects clearly and persuasively.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospecting activities and priorities effectively.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Interest in AI infrastructure, enterprise technology, and emerging technical products is a plus.
- Location note: The source description states that the role is remote in the United States but also requests willingness to work onsite in San Francisco; candidates should clarify the applicable work arrangement during the hiring process.
- Compensation: $85,000 base salary with $140,000 on-target earnings (OTE).
- Opportunity to become the first dedicated outbound sales hire and help build the sales development function from the ground up.
- High level of ownership and direct visibility into the impact of your pipeline generation efforts.
- Close collaboration with founders and product leaders in an early-stage, venture-backed AI infrastructure environment.
- Opportunity to shape outbound strategy, tooling, messaging, qualification standards, and sales processes.
- Exposure to enterprise AI infrastructure, inference technology, and fast-growing technical markets.
- Fast-paced environment with significant opportunities for learning, responsibility, and career growth.
