Position Overview
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a designer who blends creativity with technical expertise and is passionate about creating meaningful hospitality, wellness, and residential experiences.
The ideal candidate understands how to translate strong brand identity into immersive physical environments that create emotionally resonant guest journeys while balancing operational practicality. They are inspired by spaces that feel authentic to their local environment while remaining unmistakably aligned with the Everwild brand vision.
This position reports to the Senior Interior Designer and plays a pivotal role in schematic design, design development, technical drawing coordination, and preliminary 3D modeling and rendering development. The Interior Designer will also support project planning, scheduling, execution, and departmental coordination to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
The successful candidate has a strong interest in hospitality, hotels, spas, wellness, and multifamily residential design and thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Wage: $80K - $90K per year
Shift type: Permanent, Monday to Friday
Location: Canmore or Calgary AB. Regular travel to sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning
Provide support to Interior Design & Development Managers through all phases of project due diligence and early-stage planning, including:
- Conducting project site context reviews with internal and external development teams
- Assisting in the preparation of project budgets to align with project proformas and revenue requirements
- Producing schematic space plans and preliminary 3D visuals during development permit (DP) stages in collaboration with Architects
- Create and lead conceptual visioning sessions, concept statements and palette approach based on Basecamp standards
- Supporting planning and scheduling of project phases to meet timelines and deliverables
- Coordinating interior design deliverables with business development and sales teams, including drawings, plans, and visual presentations
Schematic Design
- Create schematic design packages and presentations at approximately 30% completion level
- Develop concept vision presentations, space plans, 3D visual studies, and finish palettes
- Coordinate schematic design with consultants including Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines
- Produce high-level project budgets aligned with project proformas
- Present plumbing, lighting, appliance, and material concepts that support the overall design vision
Design Development
- Produce design development packages and presentations at approximately 60% completion level
- Prepare approved construction plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, FFE plans, and 3D visual studies
- Develop specifications for finishes, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and appliances
- Coordinate interior design development with consultants including Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical teams
- Request preliminary pricing from product representatives and preferred trades to establish anchor project budgets
- Support operations, FFE & OSE procurement teams through preparation of plans, elevations, and specifications for RFP and IFT phases
- Collaborate with operations and facilities management teams on Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) for existing properties
Contract Documentation & Contract Administration
- Understand and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables based on approved design briefs
- Coordinate with Senior Interior Designers, Development Managers, and project consultants to prepare contract documents and specifications at approximately 90% completion level
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary consultants including:
- Architectural
- Structural
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Landscape
- Civil
- Attend consultant and coordination meetings as required to support efficient project progression
- Monitor project progress and communicate technical updates to internal teams
- Produce and coordinate interior design working drawings and specifications for DP, BP, IFT, and IFC issuance phases
- Ensure all documentation aligns with project scope, design intent, building codes, and industry standards
- Identify design and construction challenges and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions
- Research innovative materials, technologies, and methodologies to improve design quality and project efficiency
- Assist in preparation of tender packages, schedules, and specifications
- Support contract administration activities including RFIs, site instructions, change orders, and drawing coordination with contractors and consultants
- Conduct site visits and field reviews to ensure construction aligns with design intent and contract documentation
- Assist with project close-out documentation including deficiency reviews, as-built documentation, and future PIP recommendations
- Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and evolving building standards
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives and ongoing professional development opportunities
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design or related discipline
- Experience in hospitality, wellness, hotel, or multifamily residential design preferred
- Strong conceptual, technical, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and consultant coordination
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Requirements
Education Requirements:
- 4-year Bachelor of Interior Design degree
- Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional association
Experience Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in a planning and development, project coordination, or architectural design & drafting role, preferably in the mid to large scale multi-family and hospitality, spa & wellness development field.
- Previous experience working on interior design projects, including renovations and new builds, is an asset.
- Strong base of construction knowledge for mid to large scale developments
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building practices is desirable.
Software Requirements:
- Exceptional knowledge base and skill with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to produce 3D renders – Sketchup, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, or equivalent.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, and or Bluebeam & Adobe creative cloud programs.
