Job Description
CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.
We’re looking for a summer student who can design, organize, and build—not just make things look good, but make them work better.
This role sits at the intersection of graphic design, information design, and web. You’ll support the Communications team in creating clear, high-impact visuals and digital experiences that help our people and our business move faster and smarter.
You won’t be a “helper.” You’ll be a contributor.
Responsibilities:- Design clean, professional visual assets (presentations, internal communications, campaign materials, social content)Translate complex ideas into simple, structured visuals (infographics, process maps, dashboards, guides)Support website updates and improvements (layout, content updates, UX clarity)Build and optimize digital contentMaintain brand consistency across all materialsSupport video and motion design where needed (basic editing, thumbnails, overlays)Work with the team to improve how information flows—less clutter, more clarityTake ownership of small projects from concept to completion
- Currently enrolled in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Web Development, Information Design, or a related programCompletion of at least two years of post‑secondary educationStrong design fundamentals (layout, typography, hierarchy)Ability to simplify complex information into clear visualsExperience with design and production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Figma; familiarity with TurnKey GNU/Linux is an assetBasic web skills (HTML/CSS; CMS experience is a plus)High attention to detail with a commitment to clean, accurate, and polished workStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesOpen to feedback and direction, with a demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve
