Join a Growing Gastroenterology Team!
We are a busy, physician-owned Gastroenterology practice with 33 providers dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. As our practice continues to grow, including the addition of new providers and expanded procedure capacity, we are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse to join our Intake team.

Position Summary
This is primarily a desk-based nursing position with the majority of work conducted via telephone, electronic medical records, and other computer-based systems rather than direct bedside patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-procedure assessments and review patient medical histories for scheduled endoscopic procedures.
- Educate patients regarding bowel preparation, dietary restrictions, medication management, arrival instructions, and procedure expectations.
- Coordinate medication holds and obtain necessary approvals for anticoagulants, antiplatelet therapies, diabetic medications, and other high-risk medications.
- Review patient histories to identify scheduling concerns, procedural exclusions, or situations requiring additional provider review.
- Respond to patient calls and electronic communications regarding procedure preparation and readiness.
- Coordinate with scheduling teams regarding cancellations, reschedules, and procedure eligibility concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinic staff, physician nurses, and Endoscopy Center personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Serve as a clinical resource for patients preparing for upcoming procedures.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and comply with all safety, infection prevention, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN).
- Current and unrestricted Nebraska RN or LPN license.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, ambulatory care, or specialty healthcare setting.
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Gastroenterology, endoscopy, surgical, procedural, or pre-admission testing experience.
- Knowledge of bowel preparation protocols, procedural screening criteria, and medication management requirements.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Experience providing patient education and coordinating care across multiple departments.

- Monday-Friday

This is an onsite position based in our Lincoln office. After successful completion of training and demonstrated proficiency in the role, occasional remote work opportunities may be available based on departmental needs.
