As Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) continues to grow and expand its surgical and specialty services, we are adding to our support team and seeking a Veterinary Cardiology Technician to help ensure our surgical patients receive safe, effective anesthesia care and that our clinicians have the support they need to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Located in Boulder, Colorado, CASE is a state-of-the-art, 35,000+ square-foot specialty and emergency hospital providing advanced care across multiple specialties and 24/7 emergency services. Our collaborative team includes board-certified specialists, experienced technicians, and dedicated support staff who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of teamwork, learning, and professional growth.
Compensation

Job Description
The Cardiology Technician serves as the primary technician to the Cardiologist(s). They work to assist the Cardiologist in their daily duties and carry out their treatment/diagnostic plans. The Cardiology Technician serves as the primary technician to the Cardiologist(s). They work to assist the Cardiologist in their daily duties and carry out their treatment/diagnostic plans. Responsibilities
- Strong technical veterinary nursing skills, anesthesia knowledge, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Manage and provide comprehensive care for cardiology patients, including nursing care, treatments, monitoring, recovery, and patient advocacy.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations and administration, digital radiography, laboratory testing, and patient preparation and recovery.
- Monitor and administer anesthesia and sedation for cardiac diagnostics, interventional procedures, and surgical cases, including epidural administration when appropriate.
- Assist with advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), thoracic radiographs, Holter monitor placement, and client education for home monitoring.
- Assist veterinarians during appointments by gathering patient histories, obtaining diagnostics, restraining patients, supporting examinations, and facilitating patient flow.
- Clean and maintain ECG/echo equipment and surgical equipment
- Provide exceptional client communication, education, discharge instructions, and aftercare support while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Assist with bloodwork, physical examinations, chest taps, surgical and interventional procedures, including equipment setup, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Monitor hospitalized patients, communicate patient status changes to the medical team, and ensure daily husbandry and comfort needs are met.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and legible medical records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Clean, maintain, and operate cardiology, anesthesia, ECG, echocardiography, surgical, and C-Arm equipment.
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care and outcomes.
- Follow OSHA regulations, hospital safety protocols, and established procedures for handling client concerns and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Participate in rotating holiday coverage, on-call responsibilities, and schedule adjustments as needed to support hospital operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of patient care and hospital objectives.
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience
- At least 1 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital preferred, preferably within a Cardiology department
- Safely handle, lift, and restrain dogs/cats; stand for extended periods
- Perform venipuncture and place peripheral IV catheters using aseptic technique
- Basic surgical experience/knowledge preferred
- Communicate effectively with technicians, assistants, doctors, and staff
- Detail-oriented multitasker with strong decision-making skills in fast-paced settings
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
