Surgical Tech - Certified
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303

$29.22/hr. - $43.83/hr. — Full-time — Days - 12-hour shifts — Variable days
Weekend and on-call requirements. +$2.50.hr for weekend shifts

Boulder Community Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician, where you will serve as a dedicated patient caregiver. In this role, the CST assists the registered nurse in the intra-operative care of the surgical patient by the performance of routine and delegated duties according to the policies and procedures of Boulder Community Hospital.

Qualifications:
•Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology or an equivalent education and /or experience may be considered. OR
•Graduate of a School of Nursing with one-year experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting OR
•Former training in a military setting
•Colorado Registration is required
•Certification preferred
•BLS certification required
•One to two years experience required

Responsibilities:
•Proficiently scrub all complex procedures
•ensures instruments and equipment are available to their specialty service for use.
•Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by preparing and passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed during the operative procedure.
•Assists the RN in the delivery of care to the intra-operative procedure.
•Demonstrates proper handling of specimens.
•Consults with and/or advises appropriate personnel of instrument or equipment needs requiring follow-up or attention.
•Utilizes physician preference cards and inventory lists to accurately organize equipment and supplies for operative surgical procedures.
