Manager, Mobile Crisis

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Mobile Crisis based in United States.

This leadership role supports the coordination and delivery of critical mobile crisis services designed to connect individuals with timely behavioral health support.
The position oversees referral operations, team performance, compliance, and service quality within a technology-enabled crisis response environment.
The successful candidate will guide a team of professionals while collaborating with healthcare partners, government stakeholders, and internal teams.
This role combines clinical expertise, operational management, and process improvement to expand access to compassionate crisis intervention.
The ideal leader will bring strong crisis assessment knowledge, supervisory experience, and the ability to use data and technology to improve services.

Accountabilities:

The Manager, Mobile Crisis is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to mobile crisis referral services, ensuring high-quality support, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination between teams and external partners.

  • Manage day-to-day operations for mobile crisis referral functions, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, supervise, and support direct reports by providing clinical guidance, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support.
  • Ensure team members meet required training, supervision, and operational standards while maintaining strong service delivery practices.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including healthcare organizations, government agencies, and mobile crisis service providers.
  • Partner with technology teams to maintain effective systems and tools supporting referral processing and crisis response operations.
  • Work with finance teams on service-related billing processes and operational requirements.
  • Monitor performance metrics and use data-driven insights to evaluate team effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and review reports on referral activity, trends, and program performance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to develop policies, procedures, training materials, and service enhancements.
  • Recommend and implement program improvements that strengthen access to behavioral health resources and support innovation in crisis services.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a compassionate and experienced behavioral health leader with expertise in crisis intervention, team management, and service operations. This professional should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and administrative or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of crisis intervention practices.
  • Extensive understanding of mobile crisis services and behavioral health resources, particularly within New York City environments.
  • Experience leading teams, providing supervision, and supporting staff development.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure when supporting crisis-related situations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operational requirements.
  • Ability to leverage technology to coordinate referrals and improve service delivery.
  • Call center or contact center experience is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work remotely from a confidential, quiet workspace with reliable high-speed internet access.
