This Role:
Our team is currently seeking an experienced Operations Finance Manager. This is a key technical and leadership role to oversee central cost accounting functions. Responsibilities include monthly plant analysis, standards setting, inventory management, capital spending tracking and business cases and daily and monthly operational reporting and related tasks. This role will manage a small group of central cost accountants and is expected to have frequent interaction with plant management and plant controllers.
What You Will Do:
The Operations Finance Manager is a key technical and leadership role to oversee central cost accounting functions. This role is responsible for monthly plant analysis, standards setting, inventory management, capital spending tracking, and daily/monthly operational reporting and related tasks. This role will manage a small group of central cost accountants and is expected to have frequent interaction with plant management and plant controllers.
How You Will Do It:
- Lead cost-related components of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for plant operations, including standard cost updates and rate refreshes
- Analyze manufacturing and inventory variances and communicate key drivers and corrective actions to operations and finance leadership
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement to ensure accurate bills of materials, routings, overhead rates, and other costing inputs within the ERP system
- Monitor inventory valuation, excess and obsolete exposure, and margin trends; recommend actions to improve working capital and profitability
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including inventory related journal entries, reconciliations, and account reviews
- Provide functional leadership, guidance, and review to central cost accounting team members
- Prepare and distribute operations finance reporting, including monthly and full-year estimates, with clear insights on cost, productivity, and operational performance
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of Cost Accounting or Operations Finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5 years of Management/Supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience owning standard cost maintenance and variance analysis in a standard cost environment
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills in Microsoft Excel, including building repeatable templates and reports
- Ability to lead through influence and provide review, guidance, and technical support to transactional teams without direct people management
- Strong business partnership skills with operations and supply chain, translating financial drivers into practical actions that improve performance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present analyses clearly to diverse audiences
- Candidates with current work authorization in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
