Service Department Associate in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Morrison Industries LLC

Morrison Industries is hiring an Service Department Associate for one of our Grand Rapids locations. This position plays a key role in keeping daily operations organized and efficient. Experience in the material handling industry, or similar field, is preferred.

Schedule: Full Time, 1st-Shift | Monday – Friday

Pay: $19-23/hr

Pre-Screening Requirement: Any position with the company would require a pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana, as well as a physical exam and a background check.

About the Role:

The Service Department Associate supports customers, vendors, and internal teams by coordinating service communication, managing open work orders and records, assisting with parts and rental processes, and helping to ensure service needs are handled accurately and on time.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitor, review, and approve work orders for our technicians
• Coordinate between customers and the service department
• Respond to phone calls and email correspondence
• Provide proactive communication with customers
• Assist with parts ordering, receiving, and inventory management
• Assist with rental inquiries, quotations, and set-ups & deliveries
• Communicate with our accounting department about outstanding customer invoices

Qualifications:

• Active listener and communicator
• Intermediate computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office 365 skills)
• Strong organization abilities and appropriate sense of urgency
• Capable of making decisions
• Interested in advancement within the company
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Some experience in the material handling industry or similar field
• 2- or 4-year college degree
• Some experience in operations or management
