Pharmacist I, Fulfillment
$120,000 - $123,000 a year

Position Summary
The Pharmacist I, Fulfillment is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to fulfill patient prescriptions. This role is responsible for overseeing the dispensing process, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives prescription orders from healthcare providers and reviews them for accuracy and completeness
- Accurately dispenses medications according to prescription orders, ensuring the correct drug, dosage, and quantity are provided
- Utilizes pharmacy software systems to manage prescription records and maintain accurate dispensing logs
- Verifies the accuracy of prescriptions and patient information before dispensing medications, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and patient safety protocols
- Collaborates with pharmacy technicians to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to prescription orders
- Provides guidance and support to pharmacy staff regarding prescription verification processes and best practices
- Conducts routine quality checks on dispensed medications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with pharmacy standards
- Monitors inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies, replenishing stock as needed to support fulfillment operations
- Implements quality improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the fulfillment process
- Offers medication counseling and patient education to ensure understanding of proper medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence strategies
- Addresses patient inquiries and concerns regarding medications, dosage instructions, and potential drug interactions
- Collaborates with healthcare providers and other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient care and medication therapy outcomes
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Current and active pharmacist license in Texas
- 3+ years of experience with a focus on fulfillment or retail
- Excellent knowledge of medical and biological terminology
- Strong patient service skills
- Excellent knowledge of chemistry and specific drug interactions
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Operates in a professional pharmacy setting, which may include both office and dispensing areas
- Fast-paced and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Requires working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on pharmacy operational needs
- Exposure to confidential patient health information is routine, and strict adherence to privacy and compliance standards is expected at all times
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, telephone systems, and pharmacy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret data on computer screens and printed documents for extended periods
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Visual acuity sufficient to verify prescription details, medication labels, and data entry accuracy
- Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a high-volume, high-stress environment
