HR Business Partner

Human Resources Business Partner

The Spirit of the Position:

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic HR partner supporting managers and operational employees. This role provides guidance on complex employee relations matters, oversees leave and workers' compensation administration, supports workforce planning initiatives, and drives HR programs that strengthen compliance, retention, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

Salary: $67k-80k + Bonus Opportunity

Job Location: On-site, Downtown Dallas

Status: Full-Time

Principal Job Duties:

  • Serves as the primary HR partner for managers, operational leaders and front-line employees throughout the assigned region.
  • Leads and manages complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Reviews investigation findings and partners with the Senior HR Business Partner regarding recommended resolutions and corrective actions.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to managers regarding employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and corrective action.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on employee documentation prepared by managers.
  • Oversees leave of absence and workers' compensation administration from initiation through resolution, ensuring compliance with company processes and applicable laws.
  • Partners with third-party administrators, employees, managers, and medical providers regarding leave and workers' compensation matters.
  • Conducts location manager level candidate pre-screens and short-listing activities.
  • Leads onboarding activities for managers and salaried employees from offer acceptance through onboarding completion.
  • Conducts new hire orientations.
  • Provides HR support during location transitions, acquisitions, integrations, and operational expansions.
  • Responds to unemployment claims and represents the organization in unemployment-related matters as necessary.
  • Tracks compliance requirements and training completion for managers, office staff, and leadership positions.
  • Serves as a resource to HR Generalists and other HR team members.
  • Partners with Operations and HR leadership on strategic initiatives and workforce planning activities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with emphasis on supporting leadership, managing leaves of absence and navigating complex employee relations issues.
  • Employee relations, workers compensation, and benefits experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Word, Power Point and other Microsoft Office Applications
