Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide business and administrative support to facilitate the planning and coordinating of activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Assist in supervising craft employees assigned to a particular construction discipline work area. This position will work in a cohesive team environment to meet the client and business goals. Individuals looking at filling this position should have the ambition to grow and exceed expectations consistently. This position with daily commutes to projects up to 100 miles from Rocklin, CA.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, and arranging for assignment of project personnel.
- Assist in the coordination of project personnel activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items, contracts and change orders per supervisor’s authorization.
- Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility, provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
- Assist in planning work schedule, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
- Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures, safety requirements, etc. are maintained.
- Monitor workforce for certified payroll reports and notate on daily logs.
- Advise senior level superintendents and /or project management of potential problems, work interference, schedule difficulties, etc; Assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
- Prepare timely billings for all projects, summarize for main office.
- Prepare rough drafts of contracts for main office, scan proposals.
- Attend weekly meetings and prepare minutes.
- Maintain project status logs.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

- Able to be insured, and continue to be insurable, by the Company's liability insurance carrier.
- All licenses, certificates, and other requirements listed here are required at the time of employment and must be maintained during the course of employment unless otherwise noted.
- Must have Office Suite skills, specifically Excel, Word and MS Project.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and /or related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years construction management supervision experience in commercial construction.
- Working knowledge of various construction disciplines (technology, equipment, methods): craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance is essential.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Environment:
- Works in indoor office conditions; and
- Will work at construction sites, in seasonal climate and weather conditions; with exposure to construction noise, electrical energy, equipment, dust, and debris.
- Occasionally drive a vehicle to different locations.
- Works under pressure, in potentially stressful situations.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- On occasion, may be required to lift, manipulate, and carry items of up to 20 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to supervise work being done at jobsite, in person, at least 85% of the time a jobsite is active.
- Will regularly be required to walk over uneven or unpaved ground to reach a work site in construction zones.
- May be required to perform a variety of construction tasks in all areas and aspects of the construction project—including scaffold or platform work, confined spaces and exposure to outside elements.
- Must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment.
- May be required to work schedules which may include shift work, such as day shift, swing-shift, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend shifts.
- Regularly required to: sit, stand, stoop, reach overhead, walk, bend, and twist.
- Regularly required to repetitively use hands to: push, pull, use fingers, bend and twist wrists.
- Must have the ability to see small details and at objects at a distance.
Occasional regional travel with overnight stays during the work week.
This position is based in the North California Area with approximately 25% travel.
