Public Tax Staff Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Tax Staff Accountant who will work closely with clients to understand their businesses and support tax compliance, projections, and issue resolution. This role offers hands-on experience, continuous learning, and opportunities to build strong client relationships while developing technical tax expertise.
Essential Functions:
● Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality client service and personal attention.
● Assist with routine federal and state agency inquiries.
● Maintain frequent client contact to provide updates and answer general questions.
● Request necessary information from clients and supervisors to prepare tax filings.
● Identify potential tax issues and discuss them with team members.
● Prepare tax projections and related analysis.
● Prepare tax returns for review and address all review notes thoroughly.
● Review tax law developments to determine applicability to clients.
● Draft federal, state, and local correspondence to tax authorities.
● Participate in internal training as needed.
● Actively prepare for CPA exam completion.
Position Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● Completion of 150 credit hours for CPA licensure is highly desirable.
● Understanding of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask.
● Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
