Position Overview:
Sr. Driver Trainers are responsible for mentoring and leading the daily operations of the training team. This position involves a high level of leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration with team members to ensure that training programs are effective and meet business needs. The Sr. Driver Trainer will also train newly hired drivers, lead training and quality assurance initiatives for new and existing staff, anticipate training needs, and provide problem-solving support to address any issues that arise in the field. This position requires a reliable, proactive individual who will go the extra mile to ensure operational success and safety.
What youll do:
Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to other trainers. Guide daily scheduling and workflows for trainers to ensure smooth and efficient experiences for candidates. Set an example of professionalism, punctuality, commitment, and a proactive attitude to ensure the success of the training program.
Trainer Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate new trainers. Provide coaching and feedback to help them improve their training delivery and overall effectiveness.
Training Delivery & Development: Facilitate driver training programs for new & existing drivers, ensuring that all drivers meet safety, operational, and performance standards. Continuously improve training methods and materials based on feedback and observations.
Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Act as an active problem solver by identifying potential issues and proactively addressing them. Utilize critical thinking skills to anticipate training needs and address operational challenges.
Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear communication with the training team, Operations team & Leads, Growth team, and trainees. Take attendance, track progress, and manage completion of training for all new hires.
Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on our hiring processes, operational best practices, vehicle equipment, and safety procedures. Stay informed of current industry trends and regulations to ensure training programs are up-to-date and effective.
Flexibility: Be available to assist with any urgent needs, including driving as necessary, to support business operations.
Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks related to training and scheduling, including updating training logs and documentation.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Market Operations or other leadership.
Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent
Proven experience in training and mentoring staff, preferably in a driver or transportation-related environment.
At least 3 months of experience as an Alto Driver Trainer

Physical Requirements:
Able to communicate verbally and follow directions from our dispatch team.
Comfortable with navigational apps (e.g., Uber driver app, Google Maps, Emails, Web Browsing).
Capable of entering and exiting the vehicle consistently to assist customers with their luggage.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally.
Must be able to sit for extended periods.
