Supervisor(a) de Turbinas

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Supervisor(a) de Turbinas based in Brazil.

This role is responsible for supervising the assembly and installation of hydroelectric turbines across large-scale energy projects.
You will oversee field execution for Kaplan and Francis turbines, ensuring that work meets contractual deadlines, technical specifications, and quality standards.
The position combines hands-on technical leadership with planning, resource coordination, contractor management, and safety oversight.
You will work closely with site and construction management teams to coordinate activities and ensure the right people, tools, and resources are available.
The role also involves resolving technical issues, managing documentation, and supporting engineering teams through non-conformity analysis and corrective actions.
You will contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by training customer teams and capturing lessons learned from projects.
This is a remote-based position with frequent travel to project sites across Brazil and internationally.

Accountabilities
  • Supervise the assembly and installation of Kaplan and Francis turbines at hydroelectric power plants and small hydroelectric plants, ensuring compliance with schedules, contractual requirements, technical specifications, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with site and construction managers to plan the sequence of activities and ensure the availability of qualified personnel, tools, equipment, and other required resources.
  • Monitor the capabilities and performance of third-party contractors, ensuring that work is executed according to established procedures, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure all field activities comply with applicable safety standards, company procedures, and local regulations, prioritizing the protection of personnel and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date control of technical drawings, documentation, and project records.
  • Identify and document non-conformities through NCRs and coordinate appropriate technical solutions with engineering teams.
  • Provide training to customer teams on system operation and offer ongoing technical support during and after the turbine assembly process.
  • Analyze field processes and share lessons learned with engineering and project teams to improve future project execution.
  • Support effective communication between field teams, engineering, construction management, contractors, and customers throughout project delivery.
Requirements
  • Completed technical education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical, Electrotechnical studies, or a related technical field.
  • Previous professional experience supervising turbine assembly activities in hydroelectric power plants.
  • Strong understanding of turbine assembly, installation procedures, technical documentation, and field execution practices.
  • Experience coordinating third-party teams and monitoring compliance with technical and quality standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, identify non-conformities, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to maintaining safe working conditions in project environments.
  • Intermediate Spanish proficiency.
  • Intermediate English proficiency is considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, project-based environments and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently within Brazil and internationally, including extended assignments at project locations.
  • Ability to work remotely when not deployed to project sites.
