Position Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving company growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding Oilgear’s presence in the natural gas, nuclear, and oil and gas production markets. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships, understanding market trends, driving new product development, and aligning customer needs with the company’s current and future products and services. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, results-driven, highly motivated, and skilled in both strategic planning and execution.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to align strategies and offerings
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Manage the full business development lifecycle from lead generation to closing
- Track and report on pipeline activity, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
- Provide customer feedback to internal teams to support product development and improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role focused on nuclear energy markets
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience within the relevant industry (natural gas, nuclear, or oil and gas production)
- Strong network of industry contacts and relationships
- Experience with CRM tools and pipeline management
- Ability to analyze financial data and develop business cases
- Experience negotiating complex contracts and long sales cycles
- Willingness to travel as required (50-75%)
