Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Quality Officer and the Medical Director Infection Prevention & Epidemiology Program, the Director of Infection Prevention is a system level directorship of the department of Infection Prevention and Control across Parkview Health and Affiliates operating in an operational Dyad with the Medical Director. The IPC department is responsible for organizing, implementing and directing system-wide infection prevention and control programs along the continuum of patient care, including HOPD, ambulatory, Parkview Physician Groups, Home Health and long term care oversight. Responsibilities include: oversight of data collection and analytics, research initiatives, oversight of departmental support for magnet research projects, departmental project management collaborating with physicians, nursing and leadership. In the Dyad relationship, the IPC Director will have primary responsibility for operations, work assignments, hiring, firing, budget, project prioritization, and assigning resources. This will be done in close partnership with the Medical Director that will have primary responsibility for departmental vision, implementation of leadership driven goals, projects and initiatives, new lines of business creation, and medical staff relations. Note that in this Dyad, that there will be some sharing of responsibilities and projects as agreed by the Directors.
BSN, NP, MD or other advanced health care degree required. If BSN, must have a BSN from accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Master's degree in public health, business administration or similar field desirable.Certification in infection control (CIC) within 3 years of hire.
5 - 7 years of verifiable leadership experience required
Project management skills, leadership skills, and operations management skills will be needed. Knowledge of NHSN, INNEDS, SoftLabs, Epic, Advanced Excel skills preferred. Must have good verbal and written communication skillsAbout Parkview Health
