About This Position

Location: Topeka, KS - Onsite
Overview:
Advisors Excel is looking for a Digital Video Editor who can transform long-form video into engaging, high-performing digital content. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping interviews, studio recordings, and marketing footage into concise, compelling videos designed for online audiences and digital growth strategies.
You'll work closely with strategists and creative teams to craft videos that capture attention, communicate ideas clearly, and turn a single production shoot into multiple pieces of impactful content.
What you'll do:
- Edit video content from start to finish including importing footage, cutting sequences, placing graphics, color correction, and exporting final files
- Transform longer video recordings into concise, engaging pieces designed for digital marketing and social distribution
- Collaborate with YouTube Strategist in content development and project management for client's organic growth marketing initiatives
- Develop motion graphics and create compelling thumbnails for shortform digital content
- Assist in shooting and directing video content for corporate and client marketing initiatives
- Support studio production including client scheduling, interview preparation, and equipment setup
- Repurpose footage to create multiple pieces of content from a single production session
- Assist in developing visual pacing, graphics, and captions that enhance viewer engagement
- Prepare and organize footage libraries for efficient editing and future use
- Occasionally travel nationwide to client locations to assist with filming and equipment operation for interviews and marketing shoots
- Record audio for company and client events when needed
- Recommend new ideas for video content and digital storytelling that promote the company and its clients
- Assist with maintaining and organizing video and audio equipment
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by management
Experience you'll bring:
- 1–2 years of experience with video production and post-production workflows
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and familiarity with Adobe After Effects
- Ability to use Photoshop and Illustrator for graphics or thumbnails
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple editing projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment with evolving priorities
- Strong attention to detail in editing, pacing, and visual presentation
- Resourceful in solving problems and maximizing available footage and resources
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with creative and marketing teams
- Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond in providing excellent service to advisors, their teams, and internal partners
Bonus Points:
- Experience editing content designed for digital marketing or social distribution
- Familiarity with file formats, media management, captioning, and digital video optimization
- Bachelor's Degree in film, media production, communications, or a related creative field.
