Job Description
The Enrichment Center Coordinator (ECC) is responsible for providing K–5 students with engaging enrichment experiences that extend learning beyond the traditional academic classroom and foster a deeper understanding of the world around them. This role plays a key part in strengthening school culture, cultivating student joy, and creating meaningful opportunities for creativity, movement, and self-expression throughout the instructional day. The ECC will also support targeted small-group literacy interventions for students.
At Rocketship Public Schools, we believe students thrive when learning is active, joyful, and dynamic. Our current enrichment offerings at Rocketship include Physical Education (PE), with plans to expand our programming based on the strengths and passions of incoming candidates. We are especially excited to explore opportunities to incorporate Dance as an enrichment offering, bringing additional movement, creativity, and joy into the elementary school experience. Candidates with backgrounds in Dance, Art, Music, or other movement-based enrichment areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
We are seeking a creative, structured, and student-centered educator who can design and implement an engaging scope and sequence grounded in strong instructional practices while fostering an inclusive and joyful classroom environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students build confidence, express themselves creatively, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
We welcome licensed teachers holding Music or Art certifications, as well as strong non-traditional candidates with demonstrated expertise, initiative, and the ability to lead high-quality instruction within their area of passion and content expertise.
Motivate students to participate in learning activities; create a positive student culture; maintain high behavioral expectations for all students
Develop a year-long scope and sequence map, thematic unit plans, and lesson plans to teach discrete content skills throughout the school year.
Differentiates content by age-group and/or grade-level to ensure that activities are developmentally appropriate.
Collaborate with school staff to develop a positive culture focused on Rocketship's core values (respect, responsibility, persistence, empathy)
Serve as the leader and facilitate large group lessons on the topics indicated above
Communicate and collaborate with fellow ECCs, teachers, and school leaders; participate actively in staff development opportunities as a member of the Rocketship team
Ensure that students have access to a positive and productive learning environment by enforcing all campus safety rules and behavior expectations
Inventory and maintain Enrichment Center materials and accessories
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Passion for working with children; ability to motivate and support children in reaching high levels of academic success
Belief in the value of enrichment education for all children
Previous experience or training working with youth
Previous experience managing and/or teaching groups of elementary-age students is strongly preferred
Content expertise preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and work closely with a wide range of staff members
Ability to learn laws, rules, practices and procedures related to public education and specific to Rocketship Education
Fluency in English
Flexibility and a willingness to learn
At least 2 years of college or passing score on Rocketship's Paraprofessional Assessment is required
