About the Role:

Bring your homelessness systems expertise to work that helps communities strengthen their response to homelessness!

As an Associate in our Equitable Community Development Practice Area, you’ll manage assigned project activities across federally funded homelessness initiatives under the supervision of the Practice Area Director. This six-month position offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise to a focused portfolio of technical assistance projects funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS).

You’ll support communities through complex projects that span jurisdictions, with work involving Continuum of Care (CoC) systems, Regional TA Teams, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), system performance, governance, and HUD compliance. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with communities, colleagues, and partners and work with HUD in coordination with the Practice Area Director.

You’ll help move assigned work from planning through delivery, bringing thoughtful analysis, strong coordination, and attention to quality within the scopes, priorities, and approaches approved by the Practice Area Director. You’ll likely enjoy this role if you bring deep knowledge of homelessness response systems, can balance multiple priorities, and enjoy helping communities navigate complex requirements and put practical solutions into action.

About Community Science

At Community Science, we believe strong communities are built through knowledge, collaboration, and action.

Community Science is a national consulting firm that partners with foundations, nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations to help build healthy, just, and equitable communities. We partner with clients to use research, evaluation, strategy, organizational effectiveness, capacity building, and community engagement to understand complex challenges, strengthen systems, and co-create practical solutions that help clients understand what's happening, why it matters, and what to do next.

Our work spans topics like youth engagement, health equity, economic and community development, systems change, philanthropy, and organizational effectiveness and capacity building. Every project starts with listening. We work alongside clients, communities, and stakeholders to understand complex challenges and co-create practical solutions that lead to meaningful change.

We're a fully remote team of curious, collaborative consultants who care deeply about quality, continuous learning, and making a meaningful difference. We ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, learn from one another, and believe great consulting is as much about relationships and judgment as it is about research and data.

If you're looking for a place where you'll continue learning, contribute to meaningful work, and help clients create lasting change, we'd love to meet you!

Community Science is a wholly owned subsidiary of BCT Partners. Together, we combine Community Science's expertise in research, evaluation, and community engagement with BCT Partners' broader national consulting capabilities to help clients create meaningful change.
