Job Description
Job Summary: Works in a largely independent manner under the general oversight of the Procurement Coordinator to perform various duties related to purchasing and contracting products and/or equipment, in a professional and timely manner for CaroMont Health, to include CRMC, CMG practices, Hospice and Courtland Terrace Nursing Home. This includes but is not limited to the accurate and timely creation and issue of purchase orders, sourcing non catalog items needed by departments, the management of vendors, price negotiation, and provides pertinent documentation and information to track performance. Communicates with vendors concerning organizational expectations for product delivery and/or installation and to provide other information pertaining to orders. Manages the organization’s Procurement Card process. Responsible for recording and tracking product returns to ensure credits or replacement product is received in a timely manner. Provides purchase order and invoice information to Medical Records and Business Services requested by insurance companies for verification of charge(s). Researches and resolves accruals and identifies root cause and possible solution(s). Acquires data from primary and/or secondary data sources and analyzes and interprets it for cost savings and standardization opportunities. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in utilization of products. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Minimum of 2-4 years of purchasing experience required; or Associate’s degree with 5-7 years of purchasing experience required; or High School diploma with 8-10 years of purchasing experience required; healthcare experience and/or experience with contracting preferred. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, decision making capabilities, organizational skills, analytical ability for performing effective quantitative analyses, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) skills, sourcing, and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment. Certification with a professional organization is preferred.
