Job Description
The Receiver is primarily responsible for the oversight of all facets of receiving including scheduling of deliveries, unloading trucks, processing of incoming and outgoing shipments of goods, invoices and credits, and organizing the warehouse/receiving space ensuring an efficient flow to all departments. Adhering to all safety protocols and providing internal/external customer service is key for success in this position. The Receiver is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse/backroom equipment and area. The Receiver will also monitor shelves to assist with restock as needed and place orders for both inventory and supplies when they are low or instructed to do so. This position plays a part in creating a great shopping experience for customers by helping maintain accurate inventory and providing excellent service to customers and vendors.
SOME FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily orders pulling and receiving of inventory.
- Scans all products received and compare against invoices and purchase orders, verifying UPC/vendor codes, counts, and other necessary product information
- Maintains inventory controls through minimizing products damage, checking dates, organization and ensuring order accuracy.
- Appropriately documents all variances between actual product received and invoices, or other delivery manifests.
- Promptly notifies appropriate department personnel when goods are received and verify that goods are promptly and properly routed to designated areas.
- Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and stocking at warehouse/backroom.
- Prepares orders by processing requests: pull accurate materials and place in appropriate area for pick up or delivery; loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
- Maintains and promotes high standards of customer service.
- Reports involvement in any accidents or injuries to management.
- Ensures that equipment is maintained to company operating standards.
- Communicates with co-workers, management, customers, members, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Accepts assignment to departments as directed by supervisor depending on store need.
- Other responsibilities and tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- High school diploma preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience is preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; actively listen and get clarification; write clearly and informatively; read and interpret information accurately.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible in completing job duties while adhering to deadlines.
- Good degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work flexible schedule (weekday/weekend and daytime/evening shifts as needed).
- Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with individuals of diverse background.
- Ability to adhere and follow safety and wellness guidelines. Safety Conscious and adhering to required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.
- Ability to act with integrity, ethically, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
