We are currently accepting applications for a Travel Primary Care Physician.

This is a 1099 Contract Position.
$145-165 per hour, 12320-13200 / 2 weeks for 80 hours; consideration for mileage and lodging reimbursement. Additional Incentives available.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, Primary Care Physician is primarily responsible for participating in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients. The Physician provides the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients. The Primary Care Physician is additionally responsible for supporting clinical supervision (e.g. client oversight, case consultation, productivity reports, quality assurance) and support for medical services provided by the agency.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
Activities include but are not limited to the following:
• Provides comprehensive medical services to patients across the life course presenting for care at UFHC, on a continuing basis; examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment
• Where indicated, obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients; establish accurate diagnosis
• Perform clinical services to patients who present with illness or disease,
• Orders or executes various tests and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
• Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) signs, dates and follows-up in a timely manner.
• Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases
• Provide or directly oversee services and procedures appropriate in the outpatient setting.
• Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Administers or prescribes treatments and medications, and instructs patients on proper utilization
• Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient’s well-being
• Adhere to established clinical protocols and procedures.
• Maintain adequate and legible patient medical records in the established chart.
• Supervise or participate in and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Fulfill HRSA and health center productivity standards, such as UDS.
• Follow established health center procedures for patient billing and reimbursement.
• Maintain professional competence by completing appropriate specialty requirements of CME.
• Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings and other clinical meetings.
• Performs on-call duties as needed including responsibilities in the electronic health record and the afterhours telephone on-call.
• Acknowledges patient’s rights on confidentiality issues, maintains patient confidentiality at all times, and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations and certifications.
• Successful completion of UFHC credentialing and privileged review upon hire and re-credentialing.
• Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to regulatory body guidelines, Upstate Family Health Center policy and procedures and in keeping with the Agency’s mission statement, as well as professional Code of Ethics.
• Participate in supervision meetings, staff meetings, agency-wide meetings, utilization review meetings, in-service training, and agency culture events.
• Complete all applicable licensing requirements and ethical standards including maintaining required CE hours.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Graduate of approved medical school with Board Certification.
• Unencumbered New York State License to practice medicine
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a federal and state narcotic registration (DEA License).
• Strong community health/public health orientation, experienced in patient care management, and demonstrates managed health care knowledge and experience.
• Diagnoses and patient visit coding experience.
• Knowledge of or experience with healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience; EClinical Works preferred
• Experience in a multiple provider medical practice
• Strong commitment health professions ethics including principles of social justice, empowerment, and self-determination of individuals
• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment, work primarily independently and self-directed, take initiative and use good judgement
• Intermediate PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Office 365)

• Being able to remain stationary and upright during shift and move throughout the building as needed
