Job Description
PAY RATE: $17.50 PER HOUR
JOB SUMMARY:
The Seasonal Parking and TDM Officers conduct routine on-street enforcement tasks and other parking-related tasks within the City’s historic district and residential permit zones. They perform routine maintenance on electronic parking meters, conduct signage inventories and condition assessments, and they interact in close contact with the general public responding to parking complaints, citation appeals, and general questions regarding parking.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Acts as a direct resource for residents by proactively patrolling residential areas for issues and quickly responding to complaints.
- Provides excellent guest experience by engaging regularly with visitors and assisting with navigating Park City.
- Patrols assigned area in vehicles or on foot to ensure consistent compliance.
- Exercises extensive discretion and executive balancing based on research of customer compliance history and customer service. Uses sound judgment to identify violations of State or City parking codes and issues appropriate citation.
- Stays apprised of ever-changing transportation impacts and educates the public in a positive manner about parking regulations, directions, parking supply, general city, and event information. Always acting as an ambassador of Park City as this is one of the few City positions that is consistently in contact with the general public.
- Responds to complaints or concerns in a timely manner, referring these to a supervisor if necessary.
- Makes suggestions for improvements for parking signage and traffic circulation. Assists with curb marking, and lot striping/painting.
- Assists Park City Police and nearly every other City departments during Special Events and peak days with various operations, problem solving, or incident response as directed.
- Performs daily cleaning and inspection of parking equipment notifying supervisor of malfunctioning or damaged equipment.
- Transports and counts monies from meters.
- Performs minor vehicle maintenance such as cleaning interior and exterior, fueling, maintaining appropriate levels of coolant, oil, air pressure, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds including but not limited to traffic control devices such as signage and barricades.
- Ability to see for the purpose of reading, observing parking conditions and operating a vehicle during day and night-time conditions.
- The employee works near moving vehicles, machinery, & mechanical parts.
- Work is performed generally in outdoor settings, in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures day and/or night for extended periods.
- Considerable exposure to stressful situations including passenger questions, citizen complaints, and inquiries regarding transit operations and general city information.
- Non-traditional working hours which include evenings, weekends and Holidays.
- On-call and rotating hours as needed.
