Job Description
About Patient Care Infusion
If you're ready to step out of traditional pharmacy and into one of the most specialized, technically demanding fields in healthcare — this is your next move.
Patient Care Infusion is a locally owned home infusion pharmacy and sister company to Arizona Home Care, which has served Valley patients for over 30 years. As a locally owned pharmacy, our technicians work directly with our pharmacists day to day, with more hands-on responsibility earlier than you'll typically find at a large national pharmacy chain. Our nuclear pharmacy prepares and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic use, operating under some of the most rigorous regulatory standards in all of healthcare.
The Role
We are looking for a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support all aspects of nuclear pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed nuclear pharmacist — from preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals to maintaining radiation safety compliance and coordinating time-sensitive deliveries to hospitals and imaging centers.
This is a highly specialized, non-retail role that requires precision, accountability, and a genuine commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety.
What We Offer
- Pay: $24-25/hour based on experience and license level
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
- Pet insurance
- 401(k)
- Up to 120 hours of PTO annually
- 6 paid holidays
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday – Friday, 9:30am - 6pm
Occasional overtime may be required to meet patient care or business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, label, and dispense radiopharmaceutical doses under pharmacist supervision
- Perform quality control testing — radiochemical purity, pH, visual inspection
- Operate and calibrate dose calibrators; manage time-sensitive preparation schedules
- Maintain a clean, compliant compounding environment, including routine cleaning and sanitization of hoods, radiopharmaceutical containers, compounding materials, workstations and biohazardous disposal
- Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials per NRC and ALARA standards
- Coordinate time-sensitive deliveries to hospitals and imaging centers
- Maintain accurate documentation per NRC, AZ Board of Pharmacy, and accrediting body requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required
- Active Arizona Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) License in good standing — required at time of hire
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a regulated environment
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive, highly structured environment with fluctuating workload demands
- Comfortable working in controlled and restricted radiation areas with full PPE compliance
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
Preferred (We Will Train!)
- Previous nuclear pharmacy or radiopharmaceutical experience
- Familiarity with NRC / Bureau of Radiation Control regulations, ALARA principles, and radiation safety protocols.
- Experience with the use of nuclear instruments (dose calibrators, survey meters, multi-channel analyzers, etc.)
- Nuclear pharmacy technician training program completion
- Experience coordinating time-sensitive deliveries to clinical or imaging facilities
