What We Seek...

We are looking for individuals who are motivated and hardworking to help us fabricate world-class projects for retail environments, events, and more. The type of projects in our shop ranges from custom cabinetry to architectural millwork, to foam sculptures, to tradeshow booths, and more. The person in this position will be responsible for processing work safely and efficiently, while keeping with Britten's quality control standards. This is a key member of our team who will be flexible in terms of scope of work and will be able to work with a range of materials and tools, to help meet the needs of our customers.

Job Summary and Job Functions

• Operate a variety of woodworking and foam sculpting machinery and tools to fabricate cabinetry, millwork, and foam sculptures
• Match materials for color, grain, or texture
• Glue, fit and clamp parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete unit using clamps or clamping machine
• Sand and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare for finishing
• Read and understand blueprints, drawings and/or written directions
• Measuring parts to ensure accuracy and fit
• Assemble and prep units for finishing with precision and attention to detail
• Willingness and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done with thinking Safety First
• Interest and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time
• Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
• Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
• Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level
• Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
