The Class B Operator and Trash Truck Driver plays a critical role in maintaining community cleanliness and environmental health by safely operating Class B vehicles to collect and transport waste materials. • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience operating Class B vehicles, preferably in waste management or a related field.
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and enroll in random drug screening/pre-employment testing.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle operation standards.
• Capability to perform physical tasks associated with waste collection, including lifting and handling heavy materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with route navigation and GPS technology to optimize collection efficiency.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations related to waste disposal and recycling.
• Previous experience in customer service or community-facing roles.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Certification in workplace safety or defensive driving courses.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Class B vehicles, including trash trucks, to collect residential and commercial waste along assigned routes.
• Ensure safe loading, transportation, and unloading of waste materials in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, collections, and any incidents encountered during operations.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with the public and address any concerns or inquiries promptly.
• Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and safety standards to minimize risks and ensure safe operations.
• Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment to promote longevity and operational efficiency.
