We are hiring a postdoctoral scholar with background in in vivo neuroscience and live imaging. Our lab is an award partner on an NIH-funded Brain Initiative project developing and validating next-generation fluorescent sensors for multiplexed imaging in the living brain. We aim to provide rigorous in vivo validation and novel biological application of these sensors in behaving mice using fiber photometry and 2-photon microscopy (see publications). Postdoc will work on validating multi-color calcium and neuromodulator sensors, benchmarked against best-in-class tools across different brain regions and behavioral contexts, with opportunities to co-author research manuscripts and be part of a broader systems- and molecular neuroscience tool engineering and application team.

The postdoc will lead in vivo validation experiments, designing and executing studies in behaving mice to evaluate newly engineered calcium and neuromodulator sensors against best-in-class tools. The candidate will test sensors across different cell types and brain regions, evaluate multiplexed imaging setups with green and red sensor pairs, and simultaneously imaging and optogenetic applications, and quantify sensor performance metrics (sensitivity, specificity, dynamic range, response kinetics). Postdocs in the lab carry a large degree of independence and creative freedom in project design.

The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. Postdoctoral Scholar Candidate:

• Doctoral degree in neuroscience, bioengineering, or a related field.

• Expertise in vivo imaging (fiber photometry and/or 2-photon microscopy) and mouse stereotactic surgery.

• Strong quantitative experience analyzing and interpreting mouse in vivo imaging data (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
