Position Information
The Student Health Services Physician provides comprehensive, outpatient primary care services exclusively to University of California, Riverside (UCR) students. The Physician delivers evidence-based medical care that integrates prevention, health education, reproductive health, gender-affirming care, and holistic health principles to support student well-being and academic success. The incumbent will lead the clinical implementation of SB24 mandates and requires provision of Medication Abortion (Med AB) services and gender-affirming healthcare consistent with California law, professional standards of practice, and Student Health Services policies.Please be advised that applicants must submit a cover letter and a curriculum vitae/resume for full consideration. Candidates may also be required to conduct a presentation as part of the interview process.The full salary range for the Student Health Physician is $152,157 - $390,471 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $275,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Knowledge of women’s health, triage/urgent care, Medication Abortion (Med AB) protocols, and gender-affirming/transgender healthcare, consistent with California law and institutional policy. Knowledge of preventive medicine, health promotion, and patient education principles. Knowledge of California laws and regulations governing medical practice, prescribing, and patient confidentiality. Skill in clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, prescribing, and follow-up care in accordance with evidence-based standards and applicable laws. Ability to provide patient-centered, culturally responsive, and traumainformed care while maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. Ability to work effectively independently and within an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including coverage that may extend beyond a standard 8- hour workday. Ability to stand for extended periods, safely lift and move up to 40 pounds, and perform clinical duties requiring manual dexterity and adequate visual and auditory acuity. Ability to document accurately and timely in an electronic health record. Experience with or training in Medication Abortion (Med AB) services and gender affirming care, or willingness to obtain training consistent with licensure and institutional policy. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to effectively understand, relate to, communicate with, and be understood by young adult patients from diverse backgrounds. Experience with quality improvement, peer review, or accreditation activities in a healthcare setting.
