Under the direction of the Athletics Director, the Youth Sports Official will teach individual and team athletic skills through proper officiating. This individual will also provide a fun learning environment. The Youth Sports Official must maintain high personal standards, and adhere to, and carry out, the Purpose and Values of Greater Midland.

Major Job Responsibilities

• Consistently maintain a safe playing environment by calling fouls and violations.

• Explain to participants and coaches any infractions of rules.

• Work cooperatively, positively, enthusiastically and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland staff and volunteers.

• Ensure the facilities, equipment and supplies are secured for each game session.

• Be positive and always engage with players.

• Keep the Athletics Program Director informed of any special issues or needs.

• Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum age of 14.

• Sport specific knowledge of the game and its rules.

• Excellent people skills; ability to work in a team-setting with a wide variety of personalities.

• Strong verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Bending, twisting and reaching required

• Ability to continuously physically run up and down the court.
