About This Position
A Senior Mine Engineer at our rural Eureka, Nevada Gold Bar mine plays a critical role in shaping the long term success of our operation through advanced pit design, strategic scheduling, and technical leadership. This position focuses on developing and optimizing Life of Mine (LOM) strategies, creating detailed pit and phase designs, and ensuring that future mining sequences are safe, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. You’ll work collaboratively with the engineering team to develop medium and long range mine plans, conduct scenario modeling, evaluate economic trade offs, and provide technical guidance that supports sustainable production and resource recovery.
The role involves close collaboration with geology, geotechnical, survey, operations, and environmental teams to integrate data, refine plans, and ensure design compliance. Regular field validation, progress monitoring, and communication with operational leaders help keep strategic plans practical and achievable. You’ll support annual budgets, long range forecasts, and reserve planning by delivering accurate engineering analyses and evaluating opportunities to reduce costs or improve productivity through design modifications or scheduling improvements.
Success in this position comes from strong analytical skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical recommendations. You’ll mentor junior engineers, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain engineering standards across the department. Candidates should have a degree in Mining Engineering or a related field, significant open pit planning experience, and proficiency with mine design and scheduling software. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the physical ability to work outdoors on uneven ground, inspect pit walls and haul roads, and wear required PPE. If you bring initiative, strategic thinking, and a commitment to safe, high quality engineering, you will excel as part of our technical services team.
