Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Aberdeen Dynamics is a full-service motion and control solutions provider with over 50 years of experience. We specialize in fluid power design, hydraulic systems, pneumatic control, and electro-mechanical solutions. Our expertise serves industries like oil and gas, rigging and recovery, power generation, construction, manufacturing, process and pipeline. We are trusted for engineering solutions and are known for designing and fabricating custom hydraulic power units, hydraulic valve actuators, and hydraulic winch packages.
We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in hydraulic system design to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks CAD modeling and capable of creating and interpreting hydraulic schematics in AutoCAD. Experience with hydraulic component selection for industrial and mobile applications is essential, while electrical design experience for industrial systems and familiarity with hazardous location requirements are considered advantageous. This position plays a key role in the design, development, and integration of hydraulic equipment used in oil and gas operations.

- The employee will primarily work in an office environment with a business casual dress code.
- The employee will have occasional exposure to the manufacturing floor, requiring PPE.
- The employee will maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent tripping hazards and ergonomic issues.
- The employee will follow company policies for workstation ergonomics, including proper chair height, monitor placement, and screen time breaks.
- The employee will adhere to all IT and data security protocols to ensure safe handling of digital files and equipment.

Physical Demands
- The employee will occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust visual focus.
- The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- This job requires an extensive amount of typing and use of hands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and revise detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks for hydraulic components, assemblies, and systems.
- Support product development from concept through final release.
- Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing project documentation, reports and other related materials.
- Collaborate with engineers and sales to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct site visits or field verifications as needed to support design accuracy.
- Detail Oriented – Ensure all data and analysis is detailed enough to make sound business decisions
- Design and develop hydraulic systems for hydraulic power units and valve actuator controls.
- Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to optimize designs for production.
- Help shop with production and testing issues.
- Provide technical support and value-added input throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation, including BOMs, test procedures, and user manuals.
- Support field installations, testing, and commissioning as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, documentation, and communication.
- Ensure that drawings adhere to industry standards, regulations, and project guidelines.
- Interpret sketches, layouts, and specifications to create accurate and detailed drawings.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent tripping hazards and ergonomic issues.
- Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in accordance with company standards.

Knowledge and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Aerospace, or Technology.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in hydraulics, mobile, or industrial related systems and equipment.
- Proficient in Solidworks & PDM, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing tolerance and production/exploded assembly drawings for shop.
- Proficiency in reading and drawing hydraulic schematics in AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic system design for oil field equipment or mobile machineries a plus.
- Experience in hydraulic design and development, from concept definition through testing/validation up to industrialization and production.
- Experience in design of electro-hydraulic assemblies.
- Clear understanding of technical specifications, both mechanical and hydraulic to ensure engineering designs and deliverables comply with the technical requirements with a design to cost approach.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their electrical interfaces preferred.
- Knowledge of explosion Proof, UL, CSA, or IEC standards preferred.
