Overview
Senior Business and Technical Analyst Objective
To analyze the existing or ideal organization and design of systems, including business, departments and organizations, as well as assess business models and their integration with technology. To support the operating efficiency and excellence of the organization through business analysis. To understand customer business requirements and business process management. To elicit requirements from business users, then translate these needs into software requirements. To manage and provide solutions to business ideas, trends and concepts appropriately through technology paths. To influence decision-makers with well-supported documentation. Guide junior analysts and analysis practices, stakeholder engagement, and documentation standards.
Responsibilities
Senior Business and Technical Analyst Responsibilities
Perform an internal consultancy role that has responsibility for investigating business systems, identifying options for improving business systems and bridging the needs of the business with the use of information technology.
Expert in the elicitation and documentation of requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task and workflow analysis.
Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional, system, or technical specifications through standard requirements, use cases, screen mock-ups, and process flows. Analyze existing system and data flows to identify integration points. Track requirements and changes throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Partner with data teams to manage data impacts stemming from defined requirements. Support data stewards in the maintenance of data dictionaries and data quality.
Qualifications
Senior Business and Technical Analyst Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree required. Coursework in business analysis required.
Six years’ experience leading business analysis on small-to-medium projects required.
Experience and knowledge of leadership techniques required.
Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Familiarity with software design and architecture principles and concepts.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian products or similar project tools as incorporated by Farm Bureau.
Proven ability to interact professionally in diverse groups of executives, managers, project team participants and subject matter experts.
Three or more successfully completed certifications in Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) preferred, or Masters or Associate Certificate in Business Analysis.
Preferred
Insurance experience preferred.
Technical background and understanding of applications preferred.
