The Assistant Innkeeper plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Vacation Newport by supporting the Innkeeper in daily operations tasks. This position focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and guest satisfaction throughout the property. The Assistant Innkeeper will oversee housekeeping operations, coordinate with staff, and assist in managing guest services to create a welcoming and hospitable environment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the reputation and success of the inns by delivering exceptional service and maintaining a well-run facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality services.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an inn, bed and breakfast, or similar accommodation setting.
• Familiarity with property management software or reservation systems.
• Customer service training or certification.
• Ability to handle minor maintenance or repair tasks.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure all guest rooms and common areas are clean, orderly, and well-maintained.
• Assist in managing daily operations including guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, and responding to guest inquiries or concerns.
• Coordinate with housekeeping staff to schedule cleaning, maintenance, and restocking of supplies efficiently.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and other necessary materials, placing orders as needed to avoid shortages.
• Support the Innkeeper with administrative tasks.
