About This Position
Oakland Community College (OCC), a multi-campus institution in Oakland County, Michigan is actively seeking to fill one full-time Library Faculty position beginning in January 2026 at our downtown Royal Oak campus. $62,440 - $70,857 Starting Base Salary ($62,440 - $112,678 full salary range for the 2025-26 Salary Schedule).
- Experience providing individualized research consultation both on-site and virtually
- Ability to prepare, develop, deliver, and assess instruction to students in various modalities (online, in-person, in classroom, and at reference desk)
- Demonstrate experience providing information literacy best practices
- Knowledge of trends in academic libraries
- Ability to develop and deliver effective instruction to classes using appropriate technology, resources and pedagogical strategies
- Ability to create and cultivate ongoing relationships with faculty and Academic Programs
- Ability to engage in college life through participation in shared governance activities (ex. Academic Senate, campus committees, division or department activities, etc.)
- Experience developing engaging, curriculum focused on-site and virtual collections
- Provide leadership and direction to campus library staff and adjunct librarians
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for diverse populations, closing achievement gaps, and supporting historically marginalized students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to develop a culture of inclusive excellence in teaching, learning, and student success
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
This position requires a flexible schedule, with responsibilities that may occasionally extend beyond standard business hours, including evenings or weekends, often on short notice
EDUCATION: Master’s degree or higher in Library Science and/or Information Science from an ALA accredited program.
EXPERIENCE: At least two years of recent experience in librarianship, preferably at the post-secondary institution level
