General Description of Duties:

• Works in the “field” one-on-one directly with the associates to facilitate their success, by giving them hands-on training to improve methods and techniques.
• Directs the work of assigned associate employees with disabilities, and conducts inspections of work performed by associates throughout the day and records progress.
• Tends one or more machines that wash and dry commercial industrial or household articles, such as blankets, draperies, and bed linens.
• Inspects bed and bath linen for tears and/or stains. Inventories unusable linens and provides data to supervisor for replacement.
• Loads, or directs associates engaged in loading, washers with articles requiring identical treatment.
• Starts machine and turns valves to admit specified amounts of soap, detergent water, bluing and bleach.
• Sets washer valves, switches and levers to start and stop the machine and to control the amount and temperature of water for the washing and rinsing of each batch.
• Removes washed laundry from machine and places in dryers by hand. Folds and/or directs associates to fold linen and place on shelves or in bags.
• Stages clean bed and bath linen for housekeepers.
• May make minor repairs to washing machine/dryers. Cleans encasements of all washers and dryers on a daily basis.
• Cleans and maintains working areas and washrooms in an orderly condition.

Schedule & Pay:

Job Type: Full Time Monday thru Friday 4:00pm - 12:00am.

Pay: From $17.75 per hour

• High School diploma or equivalent. (Preferred)
• Laundry service experience in a large, motel, hotel, lodging facility. (Preferred)
• Three (3) years general work experience. (Preferred)
• Experience working the disabled adults. (Preferred)
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.

Other Requirements: Must be pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. Must be able to lift 25 lbs., crouch, kneel, push, pull, kneel, bend, stoop frequently. Must be able to carry 25 lbs., squat, reach above shoulder(s) frequently. Must be able to sit, stand, walk occasionally/ frequently depending on assigned duties.
