About This Position
Coating Oven Operator (2nd OR 3rd shift)

Ingersoll’s US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a 2nd or 3rd shift Coating Oven Operator.
Essential job duties and Responsibilities include:
- Set up, troubleshoot and maintain PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating furnaces. Includes working with process gases and high current equipment.
- Conducts furnace operations including loading and unloading, fixture maintenance and required preventative maintenance.
- Completes all required coating inspection steps including XRF and callot inspection.
- Works closely with maintenance personnel troubleshooting equipment as required.
- Provides direction as required to coating setters to build coat batches in accordance with PC planning needs while maintaining optimized batches for cost control.
- Works closely with coating development (R&D Engineering) personnel ensuring proper operation of furnace, utilization of coating recipes and recipe edits in cases of recoating.
- Assists supervision with daily coordination of coating activities.
- Works to applicable process protocols/procedures.
- Works in Team Environment.
- Supports process development/definition as required.
- Quality assurance and labor reporting via Windows based computer systems.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Work OT and weekends as required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years in production environment, technical role preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong PC controls background.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as required.
- Ability to perform coating inspections utilizing XRF (X-ray fluorescence), micro hardness fracture inspection and callot inspection of coating layers.
- Fluid with Microsoft Windows environment including Excel.
- Ability to provide direction of daily operations within coating.
- Intermediate math skills:
- High attention to detail, organization and cleanliness/care of equipment.
- Experience creating process/operational procedures a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated.
- Previous coat furnace operation and/or technical education in coating technologies a plus.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work well independently, as well as with others, in a team environment. Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess a good work ethic, demonstrate reliable and punctual work habits, demonstrate safety consciousness, and always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
The Salary range for this position is $23-30/Hr.
2nd shift - 2pm-10pm
3rd shift- 10pm-6am
