About This Position
Summary: The Grain Merchandiser works with the VP of Grain to manage the cash grain business for Ag Plus, provide marketing programs, and logistic controls to help achieve Ag Plus’s Grain Department mission and goals, which result in outstanding customer service and a profitable Grain Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or six years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of merchandising in at least 3 different markets, with increasing levels of responsibilities.
- Minimum 3 years working in an elevator in operations, with increasing levels of responsibilities, may be in conjunction with merchandising.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
