Raritan Valley Country Club, established in 1911, is a private club located in Bridgewater, NJ. The Club features an impeccably manicured 18-hole championship golf course, a spectacular 30,000-square-foot clubhouse, four Har-Tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts, two indoor squash courts, and a resort-style swimming pool with a waterslide. Members also enjoy extensive dining options, social events, and year-round programming.
We are currently seeking an experienced and service-oriented Pool Manager to lead our aquatic operations. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing daily pool operations, supervising lifeguard staff, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and delivering a high-quality experience for members and guests. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-run pool environment.
Pay: $28 per hour

Job purpose
- The Pool Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the pool facility, overseeing all aspects of pool personnel, activities, and maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members and guests. This position involves leadership, supervision, and coordination of pool services and programming, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Duties and responsibilities
- Protect the assets of the Club by maintaining equipment inventory, developing and implementing procedures for equipment check-out from the lifeguard's station or related areas. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- Safeguard the well-being of members and guests by preventing accidents and hazardous conditions. Administer first aid as needed and follow established emergency procedures
- Adhere to established emergency procedures, complete reports in a concise and timely manner.
- Recruit, hire, and train all department personnel, verifying proper lifesaving certifications and other qualifications.
- Manage team member performance for all pool-related positions to ensure standards of performance are met.
- Schedule lifeguards to ensure proper coverage during operating hours.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of pool areas, including locker rooms, storage areas, pump house, and lifeguard station. Maintain proper chemical levels, PH balance, and cleanliness to ensure safe swimming conditions.
- Orders for chemicals and supplies as needed.
- Maintains Chemical Log Book and log of incidents.
- Ensure compliance with all Health Department regulations regarding operation of a swimming pool.
- Provide aquatic-related programming and activities, i.e. swimming lessons, water aerobics, children's activities, etc., for all ages.
- Establish and enforce pool and related area rules and regulations, as approved by the Club and Hampton Golf.
- Attend manager meetings as scheduled.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for both staff and members.
- Foster excellent communication with staff, management, and members. Participate in manager meetings and collaborate with other departments to contribute to the overall success of the club and Hampton Golf.
Qualifications
- Valid Lifeguarding Certification.
- Valid CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
- Valid First Aid Certification.
- Certified Pool Operator Certification a plus (not required)
- Two years of pool management experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Working conditions
Work is primarily outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Physical requirements
Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.
Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs.and up to 30 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other sports equipment that may weigh 50 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.
Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and/or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and/or from using scaffolding.
Use the following safety precautions when using an 8ft. ladder:
- Correct placement of the ladder. The safest angle for a straight ladder is to ensure it is placed on-fourth the distance from the base to the point of support. “A” frame ladders naturally comply.
- Ensure the ladder is placed on a firm level surface, and do not place the ladder near a doorway.
- Ensure there are non-skid shoes on the ladder.
- If using a medal ladder, be sure that it is not near electrical wires.
- One person on a ladder at one time, and ensure another staff member is holding the ladder in position.
- Never overreach.
